The Milborne Players Present

"Caught in the Net"

by Ray Cooney

July 3rd, 4th & 5th 2009

at Milborne St Andrew Village Hall

This hilarious sequel to the Cooney classic "Run for your Wife" finds our taxi driver, John Smith, living happily with both his wives and families in Streatham and Wimbledon. Life is good until his sixteen year old son in Streatham and fifteen year old daughter in Wimbledon meet up on line and are amazed by the similarities in their father's details! Same name, same age, same job; the list goes on!

So when they decide to meet up in person, John's problems really begin as he tries to keep them apart ....

Reluctantly assisted by his long-time lodger Stanley (who's only trying to get away on holiday to Felixstowe with his dad), John tries to prevent his whole life unravelling before his very eyes and the plot becomes more and more complex and funny!

From the stroppy teenagers (played by Sally Potter and Gren Elphinstone-Davis) and their mothers (played by Maureen Lock and Jo South) to the bigamous John (played by Roy Sach) and Stanley with his slightly barmy OAP father (played by Brian Parkinson and Bill Preston) the cast are having immense fun rehearsing this quickfire comedy which features all the hallmarks of a great, modern farce.

Directed by Caroline Nobbs and Andy Coetzee, this show will be one that will have you rolling in the aisles as the hapless John lurches from crisis to crisis, with a final twist that you certainly won't be expecting!
