HAVING A BALL - CHARITY POLICE BALL

The annual police ball, held at The Crown Hotel in Blandford, was a phenomenal success and raised over £1,300 for local child, Alfie O'Neil.

Two-year-old Alfie suffers from cerebral palsy and is unable to crawl or walk. The NHS is unable to fund much needed physiotherapy for the tot, so his family travels to Bedfordshire twice a week to seek private medical advice and care.
He has made incredible progress at the centre over the past 12 months and, with the continued help and support from others, he may one day be able to walk unaided. The money raised from the ball will go towards travel expenses, care and physiotherapy at the centre in Bedfordshire.

Guests at the ball on Saturday 8th May were entertained by a disco, delicious food, a silent auction and a grand prize draw with fantastic prizes, including a golf day, a chocolate hamper and Champagne.

The next fundraising event is a charity golf and fun day at Rushmore Golf Club on 20th August from 8.30am until 6pm. Half of the money raised will go towards caring for Alfie, the other half will go towards The Blandford Opportunities Group, a charity which helps children with special needs in Blandford and the surrounding area which Alfie regularly attends. To book your place at the charity golf day please contact Darren on Tickets cost £40 per person and include a bacon sandwich on arrival, a round of golf, lunch and competitions.

Sewards of Blandford has donated a brand new Vauxhall Corsa for anyone who achieves a hole in one on the day.
