Ready To Get Local Lawns Back Into Peak Condition 

Fresh back from his annual Weed Man technical update at Sparsholt, one of the best known of the UK's top horticultural colleges, and impatient for the end of a longer than usual cold spell, Will van Hamme and his wife Chris are busy checking out conditions on hundreds of local lawns.

They want Forum readers to understand that "it is ever changing weather patterns that are delaying the start of their Weed Man lawn service programme this season: not that this will matter once Spring is under way". Wil explains that Weed Man's 2009 winter preparation programme has already made a visible reduction in the amount of moss he sees during lawn inspections and that, following an application of Weed Man's proprietary spring fertiliser, grasses will rapidly regain condition and his customers' lawns will suddenly look a lot better.

It is not always appreciated that Weedman has been in the lawn care business for 40 years. Although 2010 will be only the fourth season that Wil and Chris have operated in Blandford they already have all the expert horticultural "know how" and business skills that come from this 40 years practical experience. More importantly, they have been quick to learn what makes Blandford and surrounding areas of East and North Dorset distinctive and what local householders really need.

Wil and Chris have made a big investment in their "back office" support system. Wil explains "when we make mistakes our system tells us - this means we don't let our customers down and we can be efficient, keep our costs under control and charge a fair price for what we do. It also means we can stay on top of the job and when nature seems to be working against us, we can come back and put things right. Our system allows us to guarantee that our customers will always get what they are paying for, even if circumstances outside our control cause this to take a little longer than originally planned".
